A lecture on biliary tract diseases was held at the Institute's Infectious Diseases Clinic

Deputy Chief Physician, infectious disease specialist, PhD Ksenia Mikhailovna Perfilova held a conversation with patients of the day hospital of the clinic about the features of the course and measures for preventing diseases of the biliary tract.

A talk on the topic "Biliary tract diseases: etiology, pathogenesis, treatment and prevention. Dietary recommendations" for admitted patients was held on May 20, 2025, in the Institute's Infectious Diseases Clinic. The relevance of the event was due to the widespread prevalence of biliary tract diseases.

As part of the talk, Dr. Perfilova K.M. covered the issues of etiology, some aspects of the pathogenesis of functional and inflammatory diseases of the gallbladder and ducts, and cholelithiasis.

The doctor dwelt in detail on the diagnostic methods for this group of diseases used in the Institute's clinic, including, in addition to standard methods, functional tests during ultrasound examination, duodenal sounding with microscopic, biochemical, and microbiological examination of the obtained portions of bile. Nurse of the instrumental diagnostics department Natalya Valentinovna Krylova spoke about preparing patients for diagnostic procedures and the procedure for their implementation.

The conversation focused on the importance of a healthy lifestyle – following a diet and following dietary guidelines for patients with biliary tract problems. At the end of the meeting, Dr. K. M. Perfilova answered questions from the audience and handed out nutritional guidelines to patients.
