The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.

The patent "Method for diagnosing a severe form of the course of EBV-associated infectious mononucleosis" won the third place in the nomination "The best invention of the year in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals."

XV competition of intellectual property objects for the award of the Nizhny Novgorod Region named after. I.P. Kulibin was held in Nizhny Novgorod. In the nomination "The best invention of the year in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals" the third place was taken by the patent "Method for diagnosing a severe form of the course of EBV-associated infectious mononucleosis". The authors of the patent are employees of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Utkin O.V., Filatova E.N., Sakharnov N.A.
