Regional SMC for Monitoring Pathogens of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases of the VFD
The Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Monitoring Pathogens of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases of Groups II-IV of Pathogenicity of the VFD was established on the basis of the Blokhina Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Nizhny Novgorod and approved by the Order of Rospotrebnadzor from 01.12.2017. № 1116.
The head of the center is D.M.S., Zaitseva N. Natalia, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician I.N. Flea "Rospotrebnadzor.
The Center was established to promote prevention and reduce the incidence of infectious diseases by improving sanitary and epidemiological surveillance.
The purpose of the Center is the scientific, methodological and practical support of the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population of the Russian Federation on infectious diseases.
Tasks and functions of the center:
- Providing advisory and methodological assistance in a planned manner and, according to epidemic indications, to bodies and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor, health organizations in organizing and conducting bacteriological, virological, serological, molecular genetic studies to establish the etiological factors of infectious and parasitic diseases, epidemiological investigation, organization and conduct of anti-epidemic measures .
- The introduction of new methods and means of laboratory diagnosis of infectious and parasitic diseases in the practice of laboratory services of subjects of the Volga Federal District.
- Participation in the assessment of sanitary-epidemiological situation.
- Formation of prognoses of infectious morbidity.
- Development and implementation of research works and programs with the involvement of specialists from bodies and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor, medical organizations of fixed subjects of the Volga Federal District.
- Increasing the professional training of specialists, conducting seminars and internships at the workplace for specialists of the bodies and organizations of the Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights, medical organizations of the Volga Federal District (as agreed).
- Preparation of proposals for the improvement of laboratory diagnosis, monitoring and epidemiological surveillance of infectious and parasitic diseases in the subjects of the VFD.
- Submission of proposals to the territorial bodies and organizations of the Federal Service for Health and Social Affairs of the Volga Federal District for improving the prevention of current infectious and parasitic diseases, including regional plans and programs, organizing laboratory activities, methods and tools for diagnostics, monitoring the circulation of pathogenic microorganisms, developing recommendations for optimizing epidemiological surveillance and ongoing sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures.
Rights of the scientific and methodological center:
- Request and receive information from the bodies and organizations of the Rospotrebnadzor of the subjects of the Volga Federal District, Federal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology and the reference centers, local authorities in the field of public health of the subjects of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District about the incidence of infectious and parasitic diseases, the structure of pathogens, state of environmental objects and their microbiological characteristics and other information relating to infectious diseases, as well as the culture of pathogenic ovine-pathogenic microorganisms and samples of biological materials for the monitoring of pathogens of infectious diseases.
- Propose for improving the organization of laboratory services, methods and diagnostics tools, organizing monitoring of the circulation of pathogenic microorganisms, to prepare recommendations for optimizing epidemiological surveillance and the sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures being carried out.
