Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

The presentation took place at a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute on February 29, 2024 as part of the congratulations of the Institute staff on the past Day of Russian Science.

For conscientious and impeccable work, active work and success in science, as well as in connection with the celebration of Russian Science Day, the young employees of the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology of Viral Infections, Junior Researchers Oparina Svetlana Vitalievna and Velikzhanina Elena Igorevna, were awarded with Gratitude from the Head of the Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Natalia Sergeevna Kucherenko.
