Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

The conference was attended by 643 people, including doctors of 24 specialties, microbiologists, bacteriologists and other specialists. According to the conference program, 35 reports were made on topical issues of epidemiology and social significance of infectious diseases, organization of medical care for infectious diseases, prevention of infectious diseases, etc.
