Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

The sixth issue of Enterovirus Infections Newsletter has been published

Informational newsletter "Incidence, etiological structure and issues of prevention of enteroviral (non-polio) infection" No. 6 (May, 2019) has been puplished.

The newsletter contains questions on the incidence of enterovirus (non-polio) infection and diversity of enteroviruses in 2018 in the Russian Federation, the incidence of enterovirus (non-polio) infection and diversity of enteroviruses in 2018 in the subjects of the Russian Federation. New information on the development of enterovirus vaccines is presented.

The authors of the bulletin are employees of the Reference Center for monitoring of enteroviral infections of the Blokhina Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as employees of other institutions Rospotrebnadzor, research organizations and medical institutions in Russia.
