The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

The staff of the Institute congratulates our native city of Nizhny Novgorod on the 800th anniversary!

History of the our institute is inextricably linked with the urgent needs of the health care and sanitary and epidemiological service of Nizhny Novgorod. Since the establishment of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Pasteur Station in 1919 and to this day, researchers and medical specialists of the Institute have been guarding the health of residents of the city and the region.
