Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

On June 7–8, 2022, the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference “Actual Issues of Epidemiology and Hygiene: Science and Practice. Answers to Global Challenges” (hereinafter referred to as the conference), dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Russia. The conference was attended by 406 specialists from bodies and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor, medical organizations, institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Health of Russia and other organizations.

The event was held in accordance with the order of the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare dated April 6, 2022 No. 175, together with the institutions of Rospotrebnadzor: FBUN "Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Hygiene and Occupational Pathology", the Office of Rospotrebnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, FBUZ Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The conference format was hybrid (online and offline).

Within the framework of the conference, 5 meetings were held in the main scientific areas announced for discussion. In total, 57 reports from specialists were heard.

Following the results of the conference, the participants adopted a resolution, which noted the breadth of the geography of the institutions represented and the scale of the range of issues discussed, identified priority areas for scientific research in the field of infectious pathology, in the field of hygiene and the study of occupational diseases. Undoubtedly, the implementation of the indicated directions will contribute to the solution of urgent tasks to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population and the biological safety of the state.

In general, the participants noted the scientific and practical significance and relevance of the materials presented at the conference, the high level of professionalism of the speakers, the clear and high-quality organization of the conference.
