On the establishment of a professional holiday - the Day of the Federal State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance
16  09.2022
In Russia, a new professional holiday has been established - the Day of the Federal State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance. The order was signed by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

The decision was made in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2606-r dated September 14, 2022, under which Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed Rospotrebnadzor to approve a regulatory act establishing a professional holiday within two months.

September 15 has been set as a holiday date. It was on this day in 1922 that the Decree “On the sanitary authorities of the Republic” was approved by the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR.

The decree determined the beginning of the organizational unification of the system of preventive medicine that had developed in previous decades and the creation of a network of specialized sanitary and preventive institutions - sanitary and epidemiological stations.
