The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

Institute employees passed the GTO standards

Employees of Nizhny Novgorod institutions of Rospotrebnadzor took part in a sports festival dedicated to the Day of Education of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Russia.

In total, more than 70 employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after. Academician I.N. Blokhina” of Rospotrebnadzor, Federal Budgetary Institution “Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Hygiene and Occupational Pathology” of Rospotrebnadzor, Territorial Administration of Rospotrebnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Federal Budgetary Institution “Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Nizhny Novgorod Region”. After passing the registration, medical examination and warm-up, they began to pass the GTO standards. A tournament was also held for the overall standings for each test.
Head of the microbiology laboratory of our institute, Doctor of Biological Sciences. Dmitry Valerievich Kryazhev was awarded a diploma for the best performance in the test “raising the body from a lying position.”
