Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor have developed and received a patent for the invention "A method for detecting antibodies to recombinant proteins VP1, VP2, and VP3 of Echovirus 30."

During May 2024 employees of the Laboratory of Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis of the Institute held conversations with patients of antenatal clinics and the maternity hospital in Nizhny Novgorod on the problem of the spread of viral hepatitis C.

In order to expand the activities carried out within the framework of the WHO global strategy to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030 as a public health problem, as well as in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and the action plan to combat hepatitis C, employees of the Laboratory of Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis of the Institute developed an information Brochure “Hepatitis C infection”. In May 2024, lectures and conversations were held with patients of three antenatal clinics and maternity hospital No. 1 in Nizhny Novgorod about viral hepatitis, in particular hepatitis C infection, ways to prevent the spread of the virus, preventive measures, the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment.
