Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

The XIV All-Russian Conference with International Participation “Viral Hepatitis – Achievements and New Prospects” was held in Moscow

On September 12–13, 2024, the XIV All-Russian Conference with International Participation “Viral Hepatitis – Achievements and New Prospects” was held in Moscow. This is the central event on viral hepatitis in Russia and the CIS countries, which has been held since 1996.

General problems of viral hepatitis and ways to eliminate them became the topic of the plenary session, where reports were made by the Deputy Head of the Department of Epidemiological Welfare of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing E.P. Igonina, Director of the Federal Budgetary Institution of Science Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor V.G. Akimkin, as well as leading experts in the field of studying viral hepatitis M.I. Mikhailov, K.K. Kyuregyan, A.A. Totolyan, O.V. Isaeva, E.V. Esaulenko.
The scientific program of the conference included such important topics as modern features of the epidemiology of viral hepatitis and surveillance over them, genetic diversity of viruses, methods of laboratory diagnostics, etc. Reports were made by the heads and leading specialists of scientific and healthcare institutions. A competition of works of young scientists was held within the framework of the conference.
Our institute was represented at the conference by the staff of the laboratory of epidemiology of viral hepatitis. Head of the laboratory of epidemiology of viral hepatitis, PhD. Polyanina Anastasia Viktorovna made a report on the topic "Regional features of manifestations of the epidemic process of viral hepatitis in the modern period", junior researcher Korneva Alena Andreevna took part in the Competition of works of young scientists with a poster report "Monitoring studies of post-vaccination immunity to the hepatitis B virus among medical workers and the adult population of the Nizhny Novgorod region". Over the two days of the scientific forum, 110 reports were heard, more than 15 works were presented in the poster session. In total, more than 2,000 specialists took part in the event in person and online.
