Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

On October 2–4, 2024, Moscow hosted one of the country's largest events on laboratory diagnostics – the Fourth Russian Diagnostic Summit. The main event for diagnosticians brought together more than 12,000 specialists from 32 countries.

The summit was organized by the Federation of Laboratory Medicine, the Russian Association of Ultrasound Diagnostics Specialists in Medicine, the Russian Society of Roentgenologists and Radiologists, and the Diagnostic Medical Association. More than 600 speakers shared the results of their work, including employees of the Federal Budgetary Scientific Institution NNIIEM named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor.
The summit addressed the most pressing issues related to the diagnosis of diseases, the development of new methods and technologies, as well as the improvement of medical practice, expert interdisciplinary interaction, and the digitalization of diagnostic industries in healthcare. Many fruitful discussions and sessions allowed the participants to deepen their knowledge and strengthen international ties.
A large number of events were organized within the framework of the Summit - conferences, a forum, a congress. Among them is the 10th Anniversary Russian Congress of Laboratory Medicine, where Anastasia Viktorovna Polyanina, PhD, Deputy Director for Research, Head of the Laboratory of Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis of the Federal Budgetary Scientific Institution NNIIEM named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor, presented a report on the topic of “Age and Gender Peculiarities of the Immune Response to Hepatitis B Vaccination Using the Nizhny Novgorod Region as an Example”.
