The Institute's staff held thematic classes with students of the Volga Region Research Medical University as part of the AIDS Week

25  11.2024 In November, specialists from the Volga District Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS of the Federal Budgetary Scientific Institution NNIIEM named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor conducted a series of educational and awareness-raising events as part of the traditional #STOPHIVAIDS campaign for World AIDS Day.

For the 3rd year students of the medical faculty of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Primary Medical University" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the campaign "HIV infection. How to avoid infection" was organized, a seminar on laboratory diagnostics of HIV infection was held with the opportunity to take part in voluntary testing.
The events held were aimed at drawing the attention of students to the problem of HIV/AIDS, presenting information on the most important aspects related to HIV infection, drawing attention to the need to know and be able to recognize situations of risk of infection, promoting the creation of a healthy lifestyle attitude in young people, as well as methods of diagnosing this disease, principles of testing, the need for pre- and post-test counseling.

The institute's specialists spoke about the routes of infection and precautions that will help to avoid infection, the principles of modern antiretroviral therapy, as well as the main provisions of the state strategy for counteracting the spread of HIV infection in the Russian Federation.
