Several Telegram channels are spreading false information claiming that hotline operators are discouraging citizens from getting flu shots, citing a "special threat" to those vaccinated.
Facts:
- Rospotrebnadzor officially announced that the All-Russian Thematic Hotline for the Prevention of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Viral Infections (ARVI) was launched in all regions of Russia from September 22 to October 3, 2025. It is held annually and aims to inform the public about preventive measures and vaccination schedules.
- Rospotrebnadzor employees have not received any instructions discouraging vaccination.
Hotline operators provide up-to-date information on:
- Vaccination sites and methods
- Indications and contraindications
- Effective preventive measures (hand hygiene, use of antiseptics, etc.)
Telephone numbers and addresses of consultation centers can be found on the official websites of Rospotrebnadzor's regional offices. Rospotrebnadzor's Unified Consultation Center is also open 24/7: 8 800 555 49 43 (toll-free).
