The head of the Volga Regional Center for AIDS Prevention and Control held an online training seminar with educators from Nizhny Novgorod and the surrounding region.

The lesson was held as part of a series of events within the large-scale educational project "Sanprosvet" Lecture Hall.

On September 24, 2025, E.E. Kuzovatova, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Volga District Center for AIDS Prevention and Control at the I.N. Blokhina Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), held an online training seminar for teachers from secondary vocational educational institutions in Nizhny Novgorod and the region on HIV prevention.

The online seminar was organized in collaboration with the Nizhny Novgorod Institute for Education Development. Participants learned about HIV epidemic trends globally, nationally, and in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, learned about risk factors for HIV infection, and discussed everyday situations with a high risk of infection. A separate discussion focused on strategies for safe human behavior in the context of fostering a culture of healthy and safe lifestyles.
The session was held as part of the "Sanprosvet" Lecture Hall project. The project aims to increase public awareness of key infectious disease prevention tools and to foster a sense of responsibility for their own health and the health of others. The project will be implemented in all regions of the country from August to December 2025.

HIV infection is a behaviorally induced disease. Informing the public about transmission factors and the risks of infection is important for motivating citizens, particularly children and adolescents, to lead a healthy lifestyle, which should help prevent the spread of the disease. This educational outreach is aligned with the Russian Federation's Healthcare Development Strategy and the

State Strategy to Combat the Spread of HIV in the Russian Federation through 2030.
