03  10.2025
The classes were held as part of a series of events within the large-scale educational project "Sanprosvet" Lecture Hall.

E.E. Kuzovatova, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Volga District Center for AIDS Prevention and Control at the I.N. Blokhina Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology (Rospotrebnadzor), held a discussion with teachers from general education and secondary specialized educational institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod Region about measures to prevent influenza, other non-influenza acute respiratory infections, and the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Two sessions were held via videoconference, with 34 participants in attendance.

E.E. Kuzovatova spoke to the participants about the need to strictly adhere to personal hygiene rules during the epidemic period. Taking into account the participants' professional background, she also discussed the preparation of educational institutions for the autumn-winter period, taking into account the need to maintain optimal thermal conditions, ventilation, and the availability of air disinfection devices, thermometers, disinfectants, and personal respiratory protective equipment for employees. Special attention was given to specific immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases, including influenza and COVID-19. Raising public awareness of the importance of immunoprophylaxis and providing reliable information about vaccines is crucial. Participants were presented with the key provisions of the Strategy for the Development of Immunoprophylaxis of Infectious Diseases in Russia until 2035, which envisages expanding the National Immunization Schedule. During the sessions, teachers answered a questionnaire about their attitudes toward vaccinations, discussed and debunked myths about vaccination, and were introduced to the mechanisms and factors influencing the development of herd immunity.

The sessions were part of a series of events within the large-scale educational project "Sanprosvet" (Health Education Lecture Hall), aimed at raising public awareness of the key tools for infectious disease prevention and strengthening public awareness of responsibility for their own health and that of others. These sessions will be held from August to December 2025 in all regions of the country.
