On April 4, 2026, I.N. Tuzova, an epidemiologist at the Volga District Center for AIDS Prevention and Control at the I.N. Blokhina Novosibirsk Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology (Rospotrebnadzor), conducted a training seminar for third-year students at the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod on the prevention of influenza, non-influenza acute respiratory viral infections, and the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Thirty-five participants participated in the seminar.
The seminar outlined measures for the specific and non-specific prevention of airborne infections and identified high-risk groups subject to mandatory vaccination against influenza and the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Special attention was paid to the rules for putting on, wearing, removing, and disposing of medical masks.
