Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

Senior Researcher, Ph.D. Sashina Tatyana Aleksandrovna took part in the Congress of Young Scientists, which was held on December 8-10, 2021 in the city of Sochi in the Sirius Park of Science and Arts.

The congress was timed to coincide with the end of the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. In accordance with the business program of the Congress, more than 90 lectures, discussions and round tables were held, including two panel discussions "New pandemics - a challenge to modern science" and "The role of young scientists in strengthening global biosafety", organized by Rospotrebnadzor. The results of the thematic months of the Year of Science and Technology were summed up.

More than 3000 young scientists from 77 regions of Russia took part in the work of the congress.
