The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.

April 21, 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the academician. The festive events were timed to coincide with a significant date.

April 21, 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding scientist, public figure, academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Irina Nikolaevna Blokhina, who headed the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology for 44 years. In this regard, a significant event for the medical and scientific community, the institute held a solemn event to perpetuate the memory of the academician: the opening of a memorial plaque on the wall of the institute building (71 Malaya Yamskaya St.) and the opening of a monument (bust) to Irina Nikolaevna in the institute building.
