The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.

In total, 923 registered specialists from the bodies and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and other organizations of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as specialists from foreign countries took part in the conference. 4 sessions were held, at which 43 reports were heard, 2 reports were presented in the format of posters.

The conference was opened by the Acting Director of the Institute, Dr. med. N.N. Zaitsev. Congratulations and greetings to the participants of the Conference were presented by: A.Yu. Popova, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician A.M. Sergeev, Head of the Rospotrebnadzor Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region N.S. Kucherenko, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region O.V. Petrova, Deputy Governor, Minister of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region D.V. Melik-Guseinov, Head of the Laboratory of Autoimmune Diagnostics, Department of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, Sweden (granddaughter of I.N. Blokhina) M.N. Lundgren.

At the conference, 4 sessions were held, at which 43 reports were heard, 2 reports were presented in the format of posters. 10 scientific institutions of Rospotrebnadzor, 4 medical universities of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, 2 scientific institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 1 scientific institution of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, 3 scientific institutions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took part in the presentation of the reports.

The conference, in general, was of a multidisciplinary nature, which was reflected in the topics of the reports.

Within the framework of the conference, a competition for reports of young scientists was held, which took place on April 27.
