Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

May 4, 2023 a meeting was held at the institute with students of the medical and biological class 10 "B" MBOU Lyceum No. 8 named after Academician E.K. Fedorov "N. Novgorod.

Within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology announced by the President of Russia, the implementation of events in the format of the project “Open Doors to Science Day” continued. A regular meeting was held with schoolchildren in order to get acquainted with the profession and attract talented youth to the field of scientific research and development.

The staff of the Institute conducted a tour of the laboratories of epidemiological, microbiological, immunological and molecular biological profiles. Schoolchildren got acquainted with the main areas of current scientific research, modern laboratory equipment, discussed the features of the profession with young employees and leading scientists of the institute.

At the end of the tour, future specialists got acquainted with the museum exposition dedicated to the history of the formation and development of our institute.
