The head of the laboratory of molecular biology and biotechnology, O.V. Utkin, held an educational session for students of School No. 178.

The session was part of the career guidance lesson "Russia – My Horizons." Oleg Vladimirovich Utkin, Head of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Laboratory at the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician I.N. Blokhina (Rospotrebnadzor), conducted an educational session for students at School No. 178 in the Moskovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod.

The students learned about the current status of those engaged in scientific research and their role in the development of strategically important scientific fields in the country. They learned about the work of Blokhina Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology staff during the Great Patriotic War and in the modern era. The session also addressed the development of modern infectious disease diagnostics and their role in ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the Russian population. The discussion took the form of a dialogue and generated genuine interest among the students.
