The 13th Interregional Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Infectious Diseases of the Volga-Vyatka Region" was held on November 13–14, 2025. The event was held in person with an online broadcast.

The conference brought together epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, therapists, and other specialists from medical and research institutions in Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Saransk, and other Russian cities. Staff from the I.N. Blokhina Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology (Rospotrebnadzor) actively participated in the conference.

On November 14, a workshop on "Scientific and Practical Aspects of Infectious Disease Surveillance" was held as part of the conference. Specialists from our institute presented papers on the results of their research in the field of epidemiological and molecular genetic monitoring of infectious diseases, including socially significant ones, as well as the development of specific infection prevention measures.

A total of 17 papers were presented during the workshop, 12 of which were presented by young scientists from our institute and other organizations. The presentations of the young scientists were evaluated as part of the Scientific Paper Competition.
