A conversation with patients was held at the Institute’s infectious diseases clinic about influenza and ARVI

The peculiarities of the course of seasonal diseases and measures for their prevention were discussed.

Due to the increase in the incidence of respiratory infections in the region, the Deputy Chief Physician for EVN, Infectious Diseases Doctor, Ph.D. On January 21 and 28, 2026, Ksenia Mikhailovna Perfilova held conversations with patients at the clinic’s day hospital about the characteristics of influenza and ARVI, and measures to prevent these diseases. A total of 24 people attended.
During the conversation, Dr. K.M. Perfilova highlighted the issues of etiology, similarities and differences between influenza and ARVI, and dwelled on some aspects of epidemiology (sources of infection, routes of transmission and duration of the period of infectiousness). The doctor spoke about the high likelihood of exacerbation of existing chronic diseases, as well as the development of new complications during and after the flu.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of prevention and proper treatment of the disease, and rules of behavior when a sick person appears in the family. The doctor recalled that the most reliable way to prevent the disease is timely vaccination.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Perfilova K.M. answered questions from listeners and handed out leaflets to patients on the prevention of respiratory infections and correct behavior when sick.
