A conference of young scientists and specialists from Rospotrebnadzor was held in Stavropol

23  10.2025 From October 21 to 23, 2025, the XVII All-Russian scientific and practical conference of young scientists and specialists of Rospotrebnadzor “Modern problems of epidemiology, microbiology and hygiene” was held in Stavropol.

The conference was held at the Stavropol Anti-Plague Institute of Rospotrebnadzor. Over 100 young scientists and Rospotrebnadzor specialists from across the country participated. Participants presented 56 oral and 7 poster presentations. The conference also included a "Best Young Scientist" competition. The competition committee selected 10 papers in the categories of "Epidemiology," "Microbiology," and "Hygiene."

The Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor was represented at the conference by Anastasia Aleksandrovna Novoselova, a junior researcher in the Viral Hepatitis Epidemiology Laboratory and Chair of the Scientific and Methodological Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. A.A. Novoselova presented a paper entitled "Molecular and Genetic Monitoring of the Hepatitis B Virus in the Nizhny Novgorod Region," which attracted considerable attention from the audience. On October 22, 2025, the annual meeting of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Rospotrebnadzor was held as part of the conference. During the meeting, reports were presented by the chairs of the Councils of Young Scientists and Councils of Young Specialists of Rospotrebnadzor institutions on their work completed, and the future direction of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Rospotrebnadzor was discussed.

On the final day of the conference, master classes on bioinformatics processing of high-throughput sequencing data, working with continuous cell cultures, and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry for identifying pathogens causing particularly dangerous infections were organized for young scientists and specialists at the Stavropol Anti-Plague Research Institute of Rospotrebnadzor.
