Irina Nikolaevna Blokhina was not only a prominent scientist and public figure, but also a person of high culture, sensitive and understanding music, poetry, and the beauty of the surrounding nature. In her rare moments of free time, she turned to her favorite works of the classics of Russian and foreign literature. She was fluent in German and read Heine's poems in the original. Few know that, in addition to a rich scientific heritage, she left a poetic legacy. The collection "Souls of Treasure", published in 2007, includes heartfelt poems dedicated to the lyrics of human relationships, the charm of nature in central Russia, the memory of soldiers who fought on the fields of the Great Patriotic War, favorite work, as well as his own translations of Heine's poems.
In the preface to the book, its compilers, A.G. Ugodchikov (husband) and I.N. Ugodchikova (granddaughter), who, unfortunately, are no longer with us, noted that “this book undoubtedly opens up a new one, unknown to the general public, facet of the personality of an outstanding scientist ”. Together with the compilers, we hope that the book will generate interest and resonate with a wide audience of readers.
