May 28, 2019 the Reference Center for Monitoring of Enteroviral Infections of Blokhina Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Nizhny Novgorod conducted the Interregional scientific and practical workshop "Incidence, etiological structure and the prevention of enteroviral (non-polio) infection".

The workshop was attended by specialists from the departments and centers of hygiene and epidemiology, as well as scientific institutions Rospotrebnadzor. Total attended 143 people.

7 scientific reports were presented on topical issues of epidemiological surveillance of enterovirus (non-polio) infection in Russia and in certain territories at the present stage, the results of the 2018 EVI season and the forecast for 2019. The results of molecular genetic monitoring of non-polio enteroviruses were also presented and discussed. In the second part of the seminar, a report was made on the activities of the Reference Center for Monitoring of Enteroviral Infections, which provides information on the amount of practical assistance on genotyping of enteroviruses using molecular genetic research methods in 2008-18 yy.
