Commemorative rally in honor of the 77th anniversary of the Victory
On May 5, on the eve of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a commemorative rally was held at the memorial complex in the Sovetsky District. The rally was attended by employees of the Institute.
Veterans, home front workers and residents of the Sovetsky District traditionally gathered at the memorial complex in the square at the intersection of Nartov and Beketov streets. The rally began with the removal of the banner of Victory and the performance of the anthem of the Russian Federation by the orchestra of the Volga District of the National Guard Troops.
Oleg Lavrichev, Speaker of the City Duma, Yevgeny Makarov, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Honorary Citizen of Nizhny Novgorod, Sergei Kolotov, Head of the Soviet District, and Yury Balashov and Tatyana Grinevich, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.
During the rally, the military commissar for the Sovetsky and Nizhny Novgorod regions, Anvyar Khusiyanov, handed over the orders and medals of Boris Osokin, a participant in the war, to the museum of school No. Opera and Ballet Theater named after A.S. Pushkin. The veterans present at the event were presented with flowers and letters from their descendants.
