Nikolay Semashko: the creator of Soviet healthcare

The Soviet healthcare system was considered one of the best in the world. Its uniqueness lay in the unified principles of organization and centralization of all healthcare, and the key role was played by free of charge, accessibility and qualification. The creator of the model was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko, the first People's Commissar of Health of the Soviet Union.
World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, declared in 1988, was the first internationally recognized day dedicated to health protection. Its purpose is to raise global awareness of HIV/AIDS, provide support to people living with HIV, and unite efforts to combat the spread of this disease.

On May 5, on the eve of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a commemorative rally was held at the memorial complex in the Sovetsky District. Veterans, home front workers and residents of the Sovetsky District traditionally gathered at the memorial complex in the square at the intersection of Nartov and Beketov streets. The rally was attended by employees of the Institute.
